Service learning at UW-Madison

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Madison, Wisconsin, one of the graduate schools my Dad went to. I had never been Madison before, and it was quite a beautiful campus! I visited at a time when Wisconsin was warmer than California; I couldn't imagine that the same campus is covered in snow for half of the year!

Whilst at UW, I had a chance to see the Computer Science department. I found out that one of the CS courses is a Service Learning course, in which students have the ability to teach younger kids how to code. It's pretty amazing that this idea of service learning is becoming so widespread. I've learnt so much about coding and about myself through teaching others, and to hear that UW-Madison is implementing this into their curriculum seems like a pretty awesome idea!
